13

I was going to save this post for my 8 year wedding anniversary. But when I noticed the date on my calendar yesterday I had to smile. June 5, 1996 was the day my husband told me to mark on my calendar as first official day as a couple. We were not defined until that day, when a cousin of his said she was so excited he brought his girlfriend home. And when I turned to him and asked is that what I was, he said yes.

So 13 years is a very long time. It's almost half my life. And it's funny when I tell people how long I've been married and they are wowed by the almost 8 years. Then I shock them with, "but we've been together for 13." Longevity is sort of a novelty these days I guess. And it's funny because when I hear about young brides to be I'm sort of shocked myself. I forget I was only 24 when I married. And at that time I thought I was old. Now going on 32 I think, wow that was really young. Funny how life changes your opinions.

But it's been a wonderful 13 years and I don't regret a single day. But I guess I knew then what I know now, that I will always love my husband and my life was nothing and will be nothing without him.

Happy Anniversary - for the length of time you've been together. You've got a year on us...we were together beginning in 1997. Can you believe how fast it goes by?
